What's your favorite piece of classical music?

There's so much I love...but my favourites include
Beethoven's 5th Symphony (especially the last movement, because that was the music I walked down the aisle to when I got married)
Elgar - Nimrod
Dvorak's Cello Concerto
Mozart's Requiem
Handel's Messiah
Bach - Unaccompanied Cello Suites (if you want music to send a shiver down your spine, I recommend this!)
I used to play the viola, I really wish sometimes I hadn't given it up when I went to uni. I occasionally toy with the idea of getting it out and having a go, but after 10 years I think it would just sound like I was strangling a cat

Most of my favourite works are ones that I've performed:
Tchaik-1812 Overture
Hindemith-Symphonic Metamorphoses
Mozart Requiem
Elgar-Great is the Lord
Grieg's Piano Sonata
Mahler 3
And that's just a few.

>>Sometimes I suspect Bach to be more maths than music...<<
Tis a frequently observed phenomenon, and can be a turn off if you find that sort of thing cold and mechanical. But I don't think Bach does. Try it whilst using something less than, er, legal...
