Has anyone done any home based work such as envelope stuffing? Any recommendations?

DON'T DO IT !!!!

Addressing Envelopes - they ask you to hand-address 5000 envelopes, for which you will be paid X. Except, when you do it, they pick them up and say the handwriting is bad and pay you a fraction of what they owe. They then give you a 2nd chance and do it again. They get 10,000 envelopes addressed - you get writers cramp and not enough money to buy a support bandage smiley - sadface

Seriously, they're all scams. Sorry !!

I have to agree at least partially with the post above by SWL. The Net is full of disgruntled former envelope stuffers who were promised that they would get big money and only got repetitive strain injury.
There are some hoeworkers who do manage to make a living but they are few and far between. Those that do usually have to put money up front and effectively buy a franchise, which is a different thing altogether.
I would not agree that all are scams but there are a lot which are.
If you really do want to work from home then before you sign up to anything at all I suggest you go to http://www.homeworking.gn.apc.org/ which is the site for the UK National group of homeworkers. They are dedicated to getting a fair deal for homeworkers and will probably be able to advise you as to whether the sceme you are thinking of joining is worth it or not as they deal with complaints about these 'opportunities' all the time.

BTW - 'hoeworkers' should have read 'homeworkers' but thinking about it 'hoeworkers' are probably the only ones working from home that actually earn anything.
