well I seem to remember reading in a book (written by a bloke and a lass) that in the blokes chapter he said, you know a woman's well dressed when all you can do is see her in her underwear...

I didn't however know they could imagine that B...all a bit Ally McBeal if you ask me.

I saw a girl with one of those "don't just look, touch" tops. The lettering was really small, about eighteen-point, which meant that only those who stared (or me -- good eyesight, etc.) could see. The trouble is, you see someone with eightee-npoint lettering on their shirt and you wonder what it says -- so obviously you're going to look more closely -- which is, perhaps, the point ... anyway, you know in 2001 where the apes are touching the monolith and they come within an inch and then suddenly back away, then come closer, and so on until they finally touch it? I felt an almot unbearable urge to do that. One day I really will. Probably the same day a car stops on a pedestrian crossing when it goes green and I climb over its bonnet ("hey! what are you doing?" "I'm running you over.")

One of my colleagues (I work at IBM, lots of people around here) has a top with that small print on it. It's a t-shirt made to be worn by blokes and the text is placed down by the belly-button and it says "If you're this close, why don't you just suck my d**k?". I found the T-shirt quite amusing.. Not sure what he'd do if someone actually took him up on that offer, though. Gonna have to ask him at lunch..

I think you can get those from a special online store with that kind of tasteful attire featured heavily.

It probably depends on the woman, but if I did the nearly touching thing and she'd seen 2001, she'd probably laugh, or hit me.

Come to that, I suppose comparing her to the monolith is hardly complimentary.

But supposing you went up to her and very politely said, "mind if I do?" with your palms up, flat and facing inwards slightly? Not too suggestive, and yet completely unambiguous. I don't see how she could wear such a shirt and object, although in a completely different way I see very clearly how she could.

There is a chance that we might just enjoy it.

Well, most of us wouldn't wear such a t-shirt, but yeah, I think I'd sort of know what to expect. A pair of shorts so decorated would probably be a closer analogy. But I wasn't suggesting groping without a prelude, in any case. If someone asked me (in my "feel it" shorts) whether they could, I'd still have the opportunity to say no.

You can find those shirts on T-shirt hell, which is the website I mentioned earlier. The URI is kind of what you would expect, but I imagine if you google for it you'll get it too.
