It might have, but you probably aren't, and it's the place your computer stores things you're cutting and pasting between documents. On most machines, when you copy or cut something, it remains in the buffer until you restart the computer or copy something else... The idea is for you to occasionally hit "Reply" here, then press "Control-V" (or click "Edit -> Paste" on a Mac) and see what long-forgotten gem pops up.

Ok - you have to drag the mouse over whatever text (and it has to be text) you want to copy first, it'll become highlighted depending on how your machine's set up...

It has to be text that you copy; pictures don't work.
Drag the mouse over a piece of text with the left button (Mac = button) held down; that should highlight it. Without clicking anywhere else, type -C (or -C on a Mac) - that will copy it.
Then come back here, post a reply, click in the reply area and type -V (-V) to paste it...

God save the Queen
Around the Academy:
Surprisingly, the United Kingdom's anthem God Save the Queen is one a lot of people struggle with.
Most of us can just about cope with the first verse.
But when the music starts for the second verse - you're in all sorts of trouble.
Now you can make sure you're word perfect next time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God Save the Queen
God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen.
Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour,
Long may she reign.
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen.
ah yes, redecorating
