...actually, S.O.R.B you have a point, the trick could be on the actors in show somehow, or filmcrew or presenter, the list could be endless.
Could for instance, Big Brother to be an experiment not to look at the contestants while in house, but to look at the phychology(sp?) of people who enter these types of shows?
...maybe even H2G2 is just a big test and observation exercise?, lol

Alfster Posted Dec 8, 2005
I had the start of the show on tonight on 'mute' and caught the contestants lined up on the tarmac and getting on the plane and jumping and 'mutely' whooping with joy.
Anyone in their right mind should realise they are not the sort of people who they would let anywhere near a spaceship even to wash the windows. Of course, because they are dumbasses, they will not realise that when they look at the other contestants...or whatever they are called.
And a double-bluff just seems too subtle for Endemol plus why p*ss off the people who watch your dumbass programmes on C4 anyway. Thats like giving yourself a lobotomy to spite your brain.

I watched it yesterday and tonight, and was sure I've seen at least one of the non-actors before - ginger afro'd electrician Brian Mcbride.
Compare http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/S/spacecadets/cadets/ryan-mcbride.html with the guy who "saved Gordon Ramsay from a ruptured spleen" in the recent Blood Service TV ad http://www.blood.co.uk/pages/flashAdvert5L.htm
They're one and the same!

Well, only if one of the others has the brain to remember the advert and put two and two together.
It matters not one jot if anyone else knows really.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Dec 9, 2005
Of course he might just be a wannabe, looking for any way to get his mug on the telly and when he saw this reality show advertised he jumped at it.

They chose three guys in Denmark recently to be our official ESA astronaut candidates. I hope that doesn't turn out to be a hoax.

Hoovooloo Posted Dec 9, 2005
Nah. If he's really an electrician, the chances of him scoring a gig in a blood transfusion advert and then so soon after that managing to get on national prime time telly are so slim as to be unbelievable.
The man's an actor.
Which of course means the entire "crew" are actors. Which means the hoax... is on us? Or isn't a hoax at all? Or what? Frankly after seeing the show last night, watching the *extremely* weak follow up show on E4 and seeing this revelation this morning, I simply don't care. I'm bored of it, don't want to watch any more of it and am looking forward to when it ends and we can all go "ho hum" and go back to looking forward to 7pm on Dec 25th. Only 16 days and five hours to go...

So didn't you guys have that whole The Big Mission program a while back? People being given astronaut training and the winner getting a ticket for the first private space flight.

Apparently some of the constestants are actors on purpose, and it's been rigged so one of the actors goes into "space".

Additional to above:
The rest of them are apparently Joe Publics who have been selected based on their openness to suggestion and gullibility.
Of course all this should probably be taken with a HUGE pinch of salt.

Of course, it helps when pointing and laughing at the other saps.
I haven't watched any of it since the first one and won't be watching any more, as there is bound to be a gardening or housey program somewhere in the digital world that I could have on in the background instead...

JulesK Posted Dec 9, 2005
That's strange as I knew I recognised that guy from somewhere!
And although I have seen the advert in question - only once - I really don't think it's from there. I reckon he's popped up on TV in a third place...
I can't decide who are the fool-ees either - the 'contestants' or joe public. There's been so much publicity, going back quite a while - how could they not have known it was a wind-up?
