at this whole conversation its sooo true!
My father was a driving examiner. My PE teacher sta her test with him and failed. You can imagine how much that enhanced our already loving relationship.

I was so thankful when I moved up a school and got away from her, but - she followed me! aargh!

Surely so much of it is to do with a grotesque insecurity complex. Once during exam week, they tried to set us a PE exam! Ha! 'Draw a map of the school cross country course' I mean...

Standing over you in communal showers when you were a self-conscious pubescant - I'm sure that's against human rights....

EEurgh - I'm so glad I've grown up...

Standing over you in showers isn´t that much fun either when you know the PE teacher is gay.

"And woe betide if you forgot your towel... they'd probably make you roll nude in the grass to get dry."


And so they should for not knowing where your towel is......

For four years I lucked out by having P.E. the last period (in American high school-ese, the last hour) of the day. We were allowed to leave without showering. Unfortunately, the time that would have been alloted to the shower was spent in other Lord-of-the-Flies-type activites common to P.E.--torturing the smallest kid, beating up on each other, getting yelled at by the teacher, climbing *that* rope...
