I am not english, never been, never will. Apart from english though I also speek greek, italian and hungarian but my spelling is nasty in all languages. Something to do with dislexia or a nasty fall in infancy. I would very much like to be part of the H2G2 but I am afraid my spelling might not be wellcome. Any tips out there?

Hi there, don't worry too much about spelling! And certainly don't let it stop you from contributing to the Guide!! We want information, your knowledge and wisdom - we can always sort out the spelling later. Why don't you write something, submit it to the writing workshop, and maybe explain that your spelling's not so great and you'll hopefully get some help and positive feedback. It helps if you can use a some form of spell checker. Maybe write your entry in Word or some other application first, spell check it and then cut and paste what you've written in to a new Guide Entry. Good luck!
Sam.
PS Anyway, isn't Hungarian one of the hardest languages in the world to learn?

You can bet your best dictionary that hungarian is hard.I can speak it fine, it doesn't mean that I can write it that good. Thanks for the help, I will try to do my best.

So you can't spell? Richard Bach once had a letter from his editor asking if he really wanted his latest book to be the only one in the history of the english language to end with a preposition. I don't even know what a preposition is, but with help from Word (or even Netscape) I can at least spell it properly most of the time.
Publish and be damned. The peer review and all those lovely sub-editors are there to help.
Share and Enjoy!

prepositions are those little words like "of" "in" "To" "on" "for" and so on.

I basically agree with what has been said. Don't worry too much about spelling. There will be people who can point out spelling mistakes, and most word processors have spell checkers. Having a dictionary available might be useful too, and a thesaurus too.
So long as what you right is interesting, there will be a lot of people to comment on your writing. What people look for is generally a well thought out, and intereresting entry. We can sort any spelling problems later.
So give it your best shot, and good luck!
