I was going to try sleazy bars next, is what I meant

I find that there are basically 2 things that determine whether a bar is "sleazy" or not... at least for the likes of me:

1) I am able to get past the bouncer... Sleazy
2) I generally leave with someone... Sleazy

Wow - I think that my comments don't reflect well on me!

Um, I'm not sure what to say next then. My experience with sleazy bars has been quite limited, clearly I need more practise. Suggestions for good sleazy bars anyone?

I always found Swing Dancing a great way to meet lads. (At least it was for the last couple of years in the states.I can't find any jive dens in England) As for romance I think it usually hits you when your not looking. Like last November I decided I was not going to work about lads for the next 4 years at least not till I was 26. I had to much to do. Six weeks later I was engaged and 8 months later I was married. So stop looking decided you don't want it and romance is bound to smack you in the face.

Wouldn't it be pleasanter to have it gently take you by the hand?

I too got smacked in the face by the whole romance thing - when I was conscientiously trying to avoid it as well! That was 13 short heppy years ago

It will happen, and it will hit you like a brick when it does, and it may happen in the most unlikely circumstances as well...
