I was talking to one of our "senior citizen students" yesterday and he was totally against shops opening Sundays, he said it would put too much pressure on small shop owners who couldn't afford it, and encourage people to spend money they couldn't spare...

Could be. But why Wednesday? Maybe because it's halfway to Sunday, and that gives you two opportunities for funerals per week, which is more hygenic...smiley - erm Bit of a depressing subject, really.

At least I found one shop that's open til 20:00 Saturdays, so I did manage to go shopping... There's a small supermarket in the main train station that's open every day, but the prices are horridly overinflated!
