I watched the tribute to George Best (I really had nothing better to do as I'd just got out of the bath and didn't want to watch Emmerdale) and I'm really glad I did. As I hadn't been born when Best was playing football I only every knew George Best as 'That Irish bloke who played for Man U in the 60's and was always in the papers for being pi$$ed or shacking up with Miss World', My dad was always on about how good a player he was and how he could have been the greatest if he's kept on the striaght and narrow and at 13 you tend to think 'Yeah what does he know' looking at this tribute I can see why my dad thought that, George Best really was a gifted player with more talent than Beckham, Rooney, and Owen have collectivly (And I know nothing about footbal) but the shots I saw of him playing lead me to think that he was a talent well and truly wasted. I really hope the young 'Celebrity' players of today were watching and think "Bloody hell that could be me in 30 years time"

Yes it is a telling reminder it was good that George Best let the newspapers take pictures of him on his death bed as he wished others to see the price he had to play due to alcahol abuse.
