Taff Agent of kaos Posted Jul 19, 2008
trumpton, chigley and camberwick green
nothing like them is made any more and they had an inoccence about them, even in the 60s when they were made
how many firemen still wore brass helmets and how many local garrisons had forts and paraded in full scarletts, and the local land owner with his own train.....sheer magic
and of course the velvet tones of brian cant narrating

good choices Taff
also anything produced for children by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, Ivor the Engine and Noggin the Nog in particular. Oliver Postgate's voice always takes me straight back to my childhood
The Prisoner is an obvious choice for more grown up audiences. Personally I could watch the serious just for the glorious views of Portmeirion

A Super Furry Animal Posted Jul 19, 2008
Mr. Don & Mr. George.
A 6-part sitcom, only one series ever made, rarely repeated, not available on DVD.
One of the most sublimely surreal series ever made, with such concepts as cardboard suburbia, no wasps, the best friend kit and emergency topics of conversation.
If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean. If you've seen Absolutely, you'll be aware of the characters. If you haven't heard of either, you'll be confused.

I loved Mr Don and Mr George ..... they remind me of those two artists ..... what are they called ...... oooh I can't remember
I've searched for repeats of the programmes on sky but they're nowhere to be found - was it on channel 4 or the beeb 'cause I'd lobby to have it re-run.

Well I don't think Dads Army is in any way a cult classic - that's not to say it wasn't a good show in it's day. Fawlty Towers and Monty Python were both exceptional in their day and now, they deserve their cult status.
Dr Who - well I was never a fan, I was the kid behind the sofa when the titles ran - but I can see the attraction then and now.
As a kid I liked The Avengers, Star Trek and Department S.
