Cabaret was brilliant, but I got talked into watching Moulin Rouge. (Jimmy studied it in school, in media.) It is superb! Much better than it sounds, and in spite of the Christina Aguillera and others dreadful "remake" of Lady Marmalade.

I love Cabaret and Camelot, and much to my surprise liked Chicago but so far I haven't been able to bring myself to watch Moulin Rouge

Visually, it's loud and busy, and I have not got terribly good eyesight, but the overall ambience is marvellous, so is the music, and Ewan McGregor is amazing. The more I think about it, the better I like it.

Back to musicals. Are we talking the filmed ones or the theatrical ones? If the later then Carousel has to be the penultimate musical of the penultimate musical decade, the 50's. If we're talking filmed versions then Cabaret (if only for *The Future Belongs To Me*) ties with Moulin Rouge (for it's originality). Hmmm, a middle aged heterosexual talking passionately about musicals.
And as for mints, do the Listorene (sp?) wafers count? They rock!
