Something really rather revolting..... But which took me right back to my University days : went to the bakery..... it were closed
that'l teach me to stay up till 5 AM drinking G&T and beer
slept too long.....
then I had to pop into the newsagents and got a loaf of bread, just ordinary standard sliced loaf... Not my normal stuff from the bakery as I missed it... then I was back home wondering what on earth to eat... remembered I'd bought some beans in my grocerys this week, for the first time in years and years, and then remembered I'd bought a couple tins of relaly cheap nasty hotdog sausages
Which I'd impulse bought having just noticed them on the grocery website, and they'd reminded me I used to eat such things at uni.... so I decided to knock up a uni revival meal... with 'healthy' not being a word associated with it.....: 8 slices of the standard bread from teh corner shop (for true realism I should have hunted down and found and purchased a dirt cheap c**p loaf of bread costing less than 20 Pence), each slice was buttered with marg/spread liberally and then had a huge dollop of tomato sauce on it
the hotdog tin was hopened and the sausages heated up in water for five mins, then a sausage placed onto each slice of bread/butter/tomato sauce
I do* mean a lot* of tomato sauce (the idea being that however c**p the sausages the tomato sauce flavour can save em)
took me back to my first year at uni, when for If I remember correctly I could get the tins of relaly cheapo nasty hotdogs (8 in a tin) for about 12 pence, and a lof of dirt cheap c**p white bread for about 15 pence and thereby create a filling unhealthy calory high carb high meal that'd fill me up all day for next to nothing
Was always let down by the tomato sauce though (on the price measure), as anything cept the brand we all know and buy just ruins it
tonight I'm ment to be going out with firends for a curry and beer and possible some live music somewhere which may or may not itself include some more nibbles
Mmmmm not had a burger in years....
horrid stuff relaly but sometimes you just have to.....
