Seriously, check out the lowendmac site. They should have all of the resources you need.

It might actually be less expensive to find an older monitor on eBay or one of its relatives.

A wencher is defined as someone who grabs for a wench, disrespecting her wenchitude and goddessness (as in Aphrodite). Careful, careful, lest you be tarred and feathered!

I'll just leave this here ... just in case ...

hmmm...bit upset about these Macs...even more upset (nervously eyeing up bag of feathers) about the thought of people actually being a Wencher. Even as a red blooded, full head of hair Anglo Saxon wearer of boxershorts, I find it hard to beleive that some people would do that on pain of the tar/feathers scenario.

Blimey.

I think I may have to let the LC's problems become SEP.

Sniff sniff.

Good News: The Macs have gained a reprieve (i.e. I have secured a quiet dark corner to store them both in for a bit longer until I fix them or ditch them).
Hurrah!Hurrah!

Bad News: Still not working, convinced the monitors are UTS, no way of reparing them easily (see also: for free), no spare monitors to use.

Hmmmmmm.

Oh well. As Jon Quixote poster earlier - Hang the sense of it and eat!
