Ahhhhh. More fellow scunthonians. I too hail from this mystical land. Leggot is a beacon college which is cool. One of the best state funded colleges i britian educated me. How cool. My dad teaches there aswell which helps in n o way. Just thought i'd putin an appearance (no not the russian leader guy, just a typo i can't be bothered to change) I too wrote about scunthorpe though mine wasn't as serious or well written or true but it does ramble on quite well considering i'm talking crap in it.

Hi, Rijnswand!
We really do need to have a Scunthorpe meet-up at some point. What with you, me, Pinniped, Ancient Brit, Wandrin' Star (in Caistor, but it's not that far away), I'm sure we've got enough for at least a quick drinking binge. What is your pub of preference?

Imp is my usual. I've just joined this H2G2 after reading salmon of doubt. Is it any good?

Of course it's good.
The Imp is also my local, although I've not been in much recently, so there's a good chance we know each other already...

Sorry...should do the standard h2g2 introduction-for-newbies bit first.
If you go to your Personal Space (click 'My Space'), and write something there (there should be a link somewhere), then you will get officially greeted by one of our Assistant Community Editors (ACEs), who will show you lots of interesting places to go and things to read. If you don't know what to write, have a look at other people's Spaces (click on their names) - they're mostly hugely weird and incomprehensible.
It really is impossible to get bored on h2g2, there's loads to talk about/write about/do. If you find yourself at a loose end, leave a message on my Personal Space and I can probably find somewhere interesting.

The Imp is good for me too.
Or at least it will be, when I'm back on the right continent.
I doubt whether AB would complain either. At least not about the venue, anyway.

Well, I'm in there all Sundays (this weekend excepted) and most Tuesdays (next week excepted), so it certainly wouldn't be putting me out.

Hi there! I dont know if im witing in the right place - but was wondering about the fact that bottesford beck was awarded 2nd most polluted river. Can anyone tell me why this is? Im guessing its steelworks effluent...and how its being improved? Which sites discharged into the beck? Any ideas anyone? Cheers :]

I'm not sure. I picked this Entry up from the other authors, and that little nugget was already in there. I had no way of verifying or disproving it.
