Just one of the things my mother told me when I was wee, was that she could see through walls, and so always knew what I was doing. She also said that she could hear every word I'd said, so....smiley - yikes....that didn't half keep me out of trouble!

My sister could in a way. Her kitchen door has a very shiny surface and when my nieces and nephews were nicking biscuits out of the draw or opening the fridge for goodies she would see the reflection in the door and shout out "Stop doing that!"

They were absolutely convinced she could see through walls

Yes, I got the "eyes in the back of my head" thing. My Mom knew my brother and I so well, and she had such good hearing, it seemed at times that she did! When I was an older 'teen I was doing Mom's hair, and, for a joke I parted and re-parted the back. When she asked me what I was doing, I told her I was looking for her eyes. She thought it was funny, too. She used to watch my brother's eyes, lovely eyes that showed just what he was thinking, and she'd just say "Jimmy, don't you even contemplate that". Got him every time! As a sister, I loved it.

Barney,
I've done the same thing to my mom before.

We were raised with a great deal of humour. Discipline was firm and consistant, but there was always time for fun and foolishness. It made for a happy life, and some truly rediculous memories.

An honourary Auntie (not a blood relative) is reputed to be a white witch. When she had her children cleaning their rooms, her youngest boy would do the hide-it-under-the-bed job then tell his Mom he was done. She'd tell him she could see a little green lie right in the corner of his eye. He'd go back to his room yelling, "Tell me you're not a witch, Mommy!"
