A Conversation for One-hit Wonders
Early Synth Hit from the 1970s

This is keeping me up at night! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few days ago a tune popped into my head & it won't go away. It's from the 1970s, an early all synth band, maybe French. They wore space suits & you couldn't see their faces. it is NOT "Popcorn"! I recall the TOTP video, they were shown apparently floating in space against a star studded background.
Can anyone recall who the band was & the name of the #@$*& tune?
Ta,
Mikey

Mike,
I think the song you are looking for is "Magic Fly" by a group called space.

I think you're right.
Which is all the more embarrassing as I actually have that tune on my iPod. And (even more embarrassing), last year it was used in a remix of a song called 'New Direction', written by Cathy Dennis and performed by a certain eight-strong group of pop teens.
Much better track than Popcorn.
