I know you didn't notice I was gone. But I was.
I went to New York for 3 days.
*feels at a loss of what to say*
I feel so out of touch with you guys, it's like I haven't had the chance to speak to you in ages... Don't worry, I should be around a lot more now. We need to catch up with eachother, badly!
Anyway, New York. Don't you just love the smell of horse manure in the morning?
It was big. Really big. But at the same time, exactly like any other American city. There was a funny sign in a restaurant in the Empire State building that said 'we take 3 omlettes to make one egg' which duely amused me for a while. The view from the top was great, but it was freezing up there.
The original plan was we were going over to see a musical, Taboo (long story, Boy George, obsessed mother, cute lead actor blah blah, embarassing moments blah blah....) but it had been cancelled literally two weeks before we went out. It was rather creepy that there was still a large poster advertising it over Times Square. Time Square, by the way, is quite awful. It feels like being trapped in Blade Runner.... you know what I mean?
Anyway, the hotel was in a fairly good place, quite central, just off Broadway. Some advice for anyone thinking of going- don't attempt to walk from the place where the Staten Island ferry/ Ground Zero is all the way to west48th & 8th.... my foot is still dead!
Hope all you guys are doing well
EE

Central Park really does smell of horse manure in the morning, though!
Hope you're doing well too, Phel

*is startled by the great reception of yet another eagerly anticipated journal entry*
*enough with the sarcasm already, huh?*
Well... America is the kinda place you'll either love or hate. It's worth going just to find out.

Yay! Someone at least pretended to notice I was gone!
Heck, I haven't spoken to you in ages, how are you?
TB: I definitely need to expand my horizons too... I'm painfully limited to 'North America'. Must try and fight my way through Europe sometime... Heck, Britain would be a good start!

I don't know if you were talking to me, but I am confused and mildly happy - on the upside of being a teenager.
I want to know more about how YOU are... Miss vanishing-and-travelling-and-stuff!

Interesting new title....
I'm fairly stable for me. Not really much interesting to say about NY, apart from constantly being stopped by random Ameriacans telling me "ohmygod your shoes are amazing!" which really does get boring after a while.
Doing a lot of coursework for GCSEs but beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel.
Still can't speak Spanish, which may be a problem when sitting an exam in it.
Not much going on really. Got hit on the head with a basketball today.
So how are /you/ Miss probably-not-vanishing-and-possibly-travelling?

Have you got an exciting bump on your head?
Are you reputed for having wonderful shoes? Do you collect them, or is it a particular pair?
I'm confused. As all self-respecting teenagers should be.
Happy in a sleepy, baffled, scared sort of way.
Feeling very ordinary-shoed. Dreaming of boots.
Not doing anything, although I definitely should be.

Phel: Yay! Genesis!
TK: I was unsure of what you meant, is all
BT2: I do have rather a collection of odd shoes... I do love them . No interesting bruises, thankfully! Confused and happy are a good combination I know all to well!

'twas a response to your 'broadening horizons' comment.
Or would the 'zip' emoticon be more interesting in this circumstance?
