I know there are lots of songs which reference food in the lyrics, but let's stick to titles and names.

I can't raid the CD collection to find songs - they're all in boxes. And I can't think of anything offhand. Goodness how frustrating...

Poor Ivan! I'd be annoyed.
I did mine off the top of my head, since I didn't have my mp3 player with me, but then again, I spent a few hours tapping my brain and jotting them down before posting.
I'll leave this one going for a while though.

I'd like to forget it if I could. Along with all Beatles tunes.
Imagine there's no Lennon, It's easy if you try...
Must think of more for this. You guys have some good stuff here (except for the Beatles ). Keep 'em coming.

Does Alice's Restaurant count?
Music Menu (pc)
psychocandy-moderation team leader Posted Jun 10, 2010
Sure, why not? I'll "allow" anything that references food. So bands like Eater could be included, "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega counts, etc.
But I'm not quite looking to stretch it to songs that have references in the lyrics as opposed to the title. I have to draw a line somewhere or this list will get unwieldy.

Well, you had to mention that godawful "American Pie". That's worse than all the Beatles crap put together.
"Fried Neckbone and Some Home Fries" in an awesome song title. I'm not a huge Santana fan but I am totally checking that out.

I thought it'd make you feel all patriotic
I'm currently eating green peppers and hummous. Wonder whether I should write a song about it.

psychocandy-moderation team leader Posted Jun 10, 2010
Hummus and green pepper... yum! I'd listen to that.
And although I grew up exactly a mile west of the M&M-Mars Corporate headquarters and factory, I have never had a Mars bar.
Need to think of more for this list...

Can't remember if Lemon Jelly was a song or a band and wasn't there Captain Beefheart? Sounds disgusting and I'm not even a vegetarian Although Weird Al would tell us to 'Just Eat It'.
Some drink songs:
Lilac Wine- too many artists to list
Milkshake- Kellis
Milk and Alcohol- Dr Feelgood
Mindless Boogie- Hot Chocolate
And come on, PC, you must appreciate Lennon's sentiment to give peas a chance!
Key: Complain about this post
