OK, I've had a couple of insanely busy workdays, and today's going to be the same. But while I'm waiting for my reports to run, thought I'd start another of my favorite games, since you lot are so good at these. So, take me away from this crazy place by helping me compile a playlist of songs with names of places in the titles.
Any genre will do, whatever you like. Popular songs are fine, as are obscure tunes, deep cuts and B-sides. Album titles don't count, and neither do artist/band names.
I'll start us off with a few off the top of my head...
X- Soul Kitchen
Big Country- Wonderland
Naked Raygun- Home of the Brave
Wall Of Voodoo- Isle of Man
XTC- Towers of London
Siouxsie & the Banshees- Paradise Place
Shriekback- Night Town
Effigies- Haunted Town
Mission of Burma- Fun World
Replacements- Skyway
The Jazz Butcher- The Onion Field
Adam & the Ants- Montreal
Missing Persons- Walking in L.A.
Yaz- In My Room
Joy Division- Interzone
Bauhaus- In The Flat Field
Love & Rockets- Life in Laralay
Budgie- Whiskey River
Luxuria- Public Highway

That list could be endless, especially when you get into Folk music, half of which is just reminescing about places.
But my randomiser just came up with one mentioning *two* place names in the title - "Galway to Graceland" - lyrics here http://www.richardthompson-music.com/song_o_matic.asp?id=194
Flicking through to see what it would show, the next five with place names were:
Spanish Castle Magic - Jimi Hendrix (I assume that counts as Spain. Or a castle.)
59th Street Bridge Song - Simon & Garfunkel (Very specific location there!)
Banned from Argo - Leslie Fish (Ok, Argo is a fictional planet, but that's Filk for you)
Pretty Park - Kevin Coyne (Again assuming "park" is close enough to a location)
Sheik of Araby - Harmonious Wail (Even if it's misspelled...)

I'm horrible when it comes to remember names, so I can but try:
Lucy in the Sky - The Beatles
Graceland - Elvis Presley
New York New York - Frank Sinatra

Will have to come back to this, but I'll just say I had to google "deep cuts" to find out what they were and trot out the inevitable Pixies list.

River Euphrates
All Over The World
Down To The Well
Tromple Le Monde
Planet Of Sound
U-Mass
Palace Of The Brine
Letter To Memphis
Bird Dream Of The Olympus Mons
Space (I Believe In)
Motorway To Roswell
In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)
Weird At My School
Into The White (?)

I knew you'd come up with Planet of SOund, Chris, so I left them alone.
Great job, Mala Bel and Chris! I'm half done with my reports, and everything's going smoothly, so you're helping distract me sufficiently already... but I like to keep these threads going on for ages.
Especially since I can go home, sit in front of the music collection, and come up with lots more.

Okay - these are all remixes the Aphex Twin did of his "song" Ventolin, none of which have anything to do with the original, and are named after real places in his native Cornwall.

I will openly admit that I suck at thinking of things like this off the top of my head. I may have to come back to this at the weekend when I have looked through my music collection!

Aw, Abbi- ask me about music any time you like. If I don't know something I am sure I know someone who does.
I love synchronicity, though!
Jemstone, no worries. I assure you that I'll be perusing my music collection tomorrow evening looking for more.
I love these lists, when people help me, because I come up with great playlists to load on my portable player.
