Oh, and I highly recommend the Netflix. I haven't used my Blockbuster card in years, I have way too many movies in my own collection to warrant renting very often. But K and the roommates have at least 75 in the Netflix queue, so it's almost certain you'll find heaps of good stuff there. The only ones I'm really itching to see that I don't own are "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (no, JEllen, haven't gotten around to it yet, but K says we can get it and watch it together sometime soon, he'd like to see it again), and "Children of Paradise". And I would very much like for Santa to bring me "Psycho-A-Go Go".

Eeek, sometimes i think you lot are squeaking in a different language; i suppose it's what comes of not living in Dubyaland and certainly not being able to do stuff like Xmas shopping...though i did stop past a market stall today & dither over some cute little 2$ buddha keyrings...& actually made a list of those folks who stand a *remote* possibility of getting some sort of for Xmas, though it will probably be home made. Since most of "you lot" live miles away, you will have to be content with a card, anyone who thinks i may not have their postal addy, PLEASE email me asap!!!
The *lucky* possible folks & possible ideas for them are few:
Cat; something y, i have a hag stone i might make into a pendant for her. Plus lots & lots of
Oscar; lord knows, something to do with computers or unless he passes his driving test & i can wangle him a car!
Ollie: Since he is into real estate, i wondered about making him a nice little model chateau, i did something similiar for Mickey once & it worked well. He would probably prefer a millionaire client though for the real Mc Coy!
Philippe: apart from a new liver, dunno really. Something practical i suppose,he is in dire need of "home comforts" but he is in fact quite a soppy old sod so maybe i will go that route.Something Spanish would be nice, any ideas?
Patrick: gawd, he likes designer type clothes & good taste type stuff, no bloody chance! Packet of fags wrapped up beautifully maybe? Or again, a nice rich client for his properties!
Whatever, i shall try & host a nice big Xmas dinner, for all those i know who DON'T happen to conveniently have families or umpteen friends hanging around, or boy/girl friends/partners; Xmas can be a whole huge heap of s**t if you are on your own, certainly i don't want to remember last year. This year HAS to be better, at least i know for certain sure i am not going to split from my on Xmas Eve; plus have somehow survived to tell the tale, that has to be "reasons to be cheerful" RIP Ian Dury.
Hey, i am amazed about the s, honestly, they poo into little bags??? That is surely evolution at an advanced stage; incredible!

I'm quite content with an Xmas card; I much prefer a sincere sentimental thought from someone who truly cares than the obligatory gift exchanges with folks who couldn't be bothered the other 364 days of the year of the past. I don't particularly care to remember last Xmas either, it wasn't the worst, but it certainly was far from the best. I'll be having Xmas eve with K's family, then perhaps we'll trek up to Northern Illinois to visit the redneck-y portion of my family (mother's side) on Xmas day, if I'm feeling up to it. Or maybe we'll just stay in the city and spend it quietly at one of our own homes- that's a much more appealing idea to me.
As for Xmas shopping, I can't do much this year, either. Cards and lots of for my hootoo buddies, drum spurs and perhaps a CD or DVD for K, a little bit of $ each for my niece and nephew, maybe, and probably go halvsies on something with K for each of his roommates. I know I can't afford to spend much, neither would I like to see anyone I care about sacrifice their gas or electric bill to swap bloody Xmas gifts. It's the year-round love and companionship that's the real gift anyway.
Spending Xmas alone is bloody lonely, but I think it's almost as bad spending it with people who just don't seem to give a rat's. Or, as I said above, extended family who really only ask out of familial obligation and not out of any genuine interest or caring. But, as you say, at least I'll be spending it with my , with his family (who are actually quite close these days and do genuinely care about each other), and with some friends. I think I can give the maternal aunties, uncles, and cousins a miss without a problem.

Let's hear it for Netflix, they are the best way to rent movies! They just lowered their prices too - yay!

I was not spanked, I'm sad to say. He actually found it pretty funny, being a bit cheeky himself. (Hopefully his threat that I'm going to be in "big trouble" tomorrow will be made good, though!)
We were just watching a nice Godzilla video of mine, accompanied by a lovely dinner of fish sticks and tater tots, when his roommate called to inform him that the cat had fallen over in the litter box again and smeared himself with poop. Apparently "the whole apartment" reeked. So K's on his way home to wash the kitty and I'm going to bed early. Can't understand why I'm *still* so exhausted!
Tomorrow's movie night, but I'll most likely make it on for a bit before he gets here. Thanks for saying hi, Mv, Kaz & Terri.

And JEllen! Hiya!
I was gonna get Netflix myself, but since they've got it, I'll hold off for a while yet. Till I see if someone special is moving in come June, or if I'll be getting some other roommate.

He has to WASH poor kitty's botty?
Poor kitty, poor him, poor you.
Looking now at Yoda & Mooon, who are curled up together in a rather lopsided & stripey Ying/Yang position; awwww; très mignon (cute)
hey, if you were to get Herman a friend, you might well find they help each other with *ahem* personal hygiene; plus Herman would become less dependent on human company. Certainly Yoda has got a lot less clingy since Mooon arrived.

If Herman and K move in here, I'll look into perhaps getting a kitty friend for Herman. He had one at K's old place, but she died a couple of years ago.
At K's place now, his roommate has two female cats already, both very touchy and with a firmly established pecking order. Because Herman has that cerebral problem (I will ask K to tell me what it is again, and post a link to some info), he does get pushed around a bit by the other kitties. But he has such a hard time maintaining his balance, sometimes when he's pooping, he falls over, and every once in a while he lands right in the poop. It doesn't help he's so furry. (Photos of Herman are forthcoming, by email, K has been looking through some boxes for one.)
I am glad that Yoda and Mooon get on as well as they do, it's probably good for all of you!
