It was cumberland sausage with galic mash and gravey!
It would have been possible to have posh fish and posh roasted potatoes but it was not chip shop stuff!
I enjoyed my duck - it was nicely cooked and the salad was nice too.
I wonder if Batty and PC have been to a 'chippy' yet ...

Couldn't find one, actually... we went to a pub-type place near the hotel, where he got his fish and chips. Though it was no doubt not the proper type you're mentioning.
Last night we went to a very nice Thai restaurant called the Blue Elephant, with a load of his coworkers. The food was quite good.
Now we're back in the US. After a long and tedious flight.

'foreign' restaurants tend to be good on the british isles. i remember an indian restaurant in york and another one in 'bangla town', east end, london
