h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Weill seeing as I had had a bad couple of days I decided some retail therapy was in order so I went out and got myself a brand spanking new wireless lap top *dances*

Now please note I didn't set up my old lap top my friend did it

The man in the shop told me there was nothing to worry about as setting up the router was childs play and I'd be fine, in fact I think he even used the term 'easy peasy lemon squeezey'

anyhoo got hom and I couldn't fathom it out for the life of me, so came on here and put a plea out in ask


Evangline and Charlie came to my rescuse and after much pulling out of hair and long sighs they managed to get me sorted.

Now in my defence, the atchual setting up is that that hard, it was the manual that was confusing me, it was increadibly obscure and it assumes prior knowledge.

So thanks Evangeline and Charlie your both stars, and now I can work on my guide entries and get a nice tan at the same time

Of course it's child's play, ... the little rug-rats are born with techie-know-how these days. Us older folks gotta figure it out ourselves.

Well, that and the fact that it's a toy. "Officially", I was insecure about a used notebook that I bought for milady. Old, a shakey hard-drive, yada-yada-yada ... Hence the brand new Dell, bought near the New Year. Of course, I got no joy from configuring it, connecting it to the house network, tweaking it, ...

Gah took too long when it needn't have done at a guess
