A newbie question - why are all the bikes plastic rockets ?

Because all the proper bikes are far to modest to be photographed
I've just fitted some plastic to my bike, but it is a great big Rickman 'barndoor' fairing for the winter. I must be getting old. Next thing I'll be wanting a BMW, pipe and slippers.
