Waiting for the end of the universe? Me too

Im writing a book, and in this book I designed a ship which I'd like your opinion on. A ship powered by a Black Hole. Having a contained black hole on board a ship is the ultimate style of travel. An example of how it works is this.... Go Ice skating, and pull yourself forward by the rail, your feet dont move but your entire being does. Same idea, The power source would pull the space around it to propell the ship forward..... just tell me what ya think please

Certainly worth exploring further.

Some of the more obvious objections might be the nature of black holes themselves. They are after all and by definition 'all-encompassing'. As such they might resist being encompassed themselves.

Can't say for sure but I've always wondered how the bag we-put-all-our-other-bags-in feels about being the odd bag out. Or the box we put all our other boxes in. What is the selection process by which one bag or box becomes the great encompasser of all others...?

Maybe I'm wrong to think a black hole would care about such things but it did occur to me while watching a Star Trek (next gen) episode in which the foolish Romulans had built a ship around a black hole (aka: quantum singularity) with self-destructive results. I mean, once you've found a black hole small enough to potentially fit inside a starship, do you build round it or try to fit it thru the door of an existing...

Oh dear, my mind has wandered off in some universal way...

well humans even now are researching how to create a black hole. I think i saw an article in this months popular science or something, check it out. But why cant someone build a ship with the black hole creation equipment inside it and wait until lift off to put the black hole creator into effect.
