My daughter's boyfriend is a very talented musician. He has a lovely jazz singing voice, but his real enthusiasm is for the possibilities afforded by modern technology, and he's already done some work with local artists on music production.
Those of you who have visited the Beahive will know that when we moved in, we found the attic was floored, with access via a slingsby ladder, and that Matty has turned that into his recording studio.
Last week, he won a competition for his remix of the Cocoa-cola/ Mark Ronson/ Olympic tune "Anywhere in the World". Aside from the £4k worth of equipment that this brings, he's very excited about the opportunity to make his name better known.
Not sure if you can access this from anywhere in the world (geddit?) but he's being interviewed this afternoon on
http://www.coolfm.co.uk/
after 3pm UK time.
I think I'll need a blue plaque on the Beahive, saying "Matty G's first recording studio was here"
