Here's a companion article to Macintosh Desktop Publishing: The Print Media. I know it's dry... sorry!

Hi Lentilla
I enjoyed reading it I don't think it's dry at all .
The opening paragraph does seem to launch the reader right in head first. I felt as if I'd arrived at the lesson a few minutes late and had missed the introduction. It then goes on to flag up the contents of the final section without really explaining the structure of the article overall.
Perhaps starting with a broad definition of graphic design would help. I found this link which looked useful: http://desktoppub.about.com/library/glossary/bldef-graphicdesign.htm

Yes, I do dive right in, don't I! This was meant to be part of a larger article, but I realized after looking at it last week that I was never going to write the larger article; it would have to be huge to include all the information I wanted to. This is why it feels a little more truncated than it should be.
Including an explanation of graphic design and desktop publishing is a good idea - I'll be doing some fine tuning on this (I always do, don't ever know when to quit fiddling with it) and I'll add it as I go.
Glad it's not too tedious! It's hard to know when to quit when you're talking about what you do...

Amy - after reading your critique of the other article, I realized I'd be best served by combining the two together. Perhaps I should have done this to begin with, but last time I wrote an article, I ended up having to split it up!
Ant trilogy, huh? I'll take a look... sounds like fun!
I'm off to remove the other article from Peer Review.
Zarquon Are you interested in graphic design? The Mac is a great machine for that. You'll need a design program (Quark is too expensive for ordinary people, but I hear InDesign is all right.)
Key: Complain about this post
