A Conversation for Tips for Best Man Speeches

I only came back on here to thank FudgerSmith for his recommendation, after making my very successful best man speech on Saturday. However, I notice that there are quite a few postings since I last looked as I planned well ahead. A lot of the postings are giving links to free material, which I also looked at but I followed Fudger to the site he recommended http://www.a-best-man-speech.co.uk
The best man speech pack costs a tenner and you can download it instantly, except my pc crashed and I lost the link. On this site there is an an addresss and phone number, unlike some of the ones recommended that hide behind an e-mail address only. So, I rang the guy up and he was very helpful, sent me the documents etc and I was amazed how much brilliant and original material there was, that is not on free websites. I also chatted to him for 10 minutes and he said that he had written over 2000 best man speeches and he also gave me some tips that I remembered and used on Saturday, when my speech seemed to bring the house down.
So, I would say that considering the average wedding is supposed to cost £15,000, any best man who spends hours on the net looking through free rubbish, is a cheapskate; when you can get about 100 pages of mainly fresh material and excellent speech making tips for a tenner.
Jamie.

Once I downloaded the speeches there was an instant sigh of relief, my nerves disappeared and while you can't put a price on peace of mind, the speeches at Speech Success http://www.speechsuccess.com/best-man-speeches.html were worth their weight in gold.

Just looking at the contributors who mysteriously seem to join and post straight away, or once only, do I sense a possible advertising campaign by speechsuccess?
Having loved comedy more than anything else for the majority of my life and made a lot of speeches both for business and at weddings, I still maintain that humour does not traverse the Atlantic too well. If you are in Britain look at British sites and if you are in America look at USA sites.

Its a while since I was last on here, due to work, the curse of the drinking classes. Somebody told me there was somebody replying to me and I thought he was jesting.
He wasn't and I would just like to congratulate Jamie the Jester on making his successful best man speech and thank him for thanking me.
I think I might have another coming up; one of my best mates could be having a shotgun wedding, unless the father of the bride kills him first. Doesn't he know it takes 2 to tango?

I think its a good article but there is a lot more to that than just getting a speech guide. It needs to be constantly updated and not just a rehashed speech which people would have heard before. There is only one site which is constantly updated, www.agoodspeech.com
I highly recommend it. The guy has even written speeches aired on national television!

Hi Fudger,
I am sorry to be so long replying to you, I have been on a long visit to Oz. I have gained over a stone due to beer and barbies .
Thanks very much for your congratulations, my best man speech seems distant now. What's this about another speech coming up? or have you done it yet?
Even though mine went as well as it did, I wouldn't relish doing another; although it was nice to have had all the praise I got.
Best Wishes
Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Thanks very much for your reply; I'm not very good at this staying in touch business either. A mate told me that there was a reply for me on here, it's only taken me a year to respond, so that is good for me.
I was going to be Best man again in Feb, but the couple split up before Christmas; but he's found another chick again and she wants to marry him and guess what; I'm Best man.
The only worry I have after making my succesful speech last time, is getting the name of the girl right in the speech. I daren't wing it, because I know I'm going to say the last girl's name; as to me, they were the perfect couple.
They have set the date for October, so wish me luck.
Piece of cake.
Regards
Fudger [cake]

Hi Jamie
I don't know if you still look on here, but I did my Best man Speech at the end of October and it went down a storm.
I think the main thing of all is when you have a final speech, read through it lots and lots of times. I did and I was so familiar with it on the day I felt so comfortable.
Piece of
Best Wishes
Fudger
