I have had somewhat reasonable success with using a powerpoint presentation as visual aid for a best mans speech. It does require a fair deal of coordination (ref. to said thing about not being too drunk), and a quick setup if you want to avoid grandparents tripping in wires and ending up in hospital half way through the main course.
However, it does provde you with an excellent option for showing some of those photographs that just say the things 10,000 times better than i ever could........
