you might want to include a link to the world health organization's leprosy page at http://www.who.int/lep/

FABT - new venture A815654 Angel spoiler page

well the info is all there, but it seems to be in the wrong order

surely the history bit should go first where people are saying 'oh, so this is a disease then?!'

and the bit about leper colonies........this is a big topic and really could do with an entry of its own. however, perhaps you could clarify your statement somewhat....perhaps mention that medieval views of illness were vastly different to the views today. they believed it to be punishment for sin. leprosy was indeed a particularly feered and hated disease, mainly because the sufferers could live for so long with it. But many other illnesses were regarded the same or in a similar manner at the time. hospitals were where you wnet to die while people prayed around you, not where you wnet for a cure. etc. etc. best bet, read a couple of text books written in the last ten years about the archaeology of town landscapes. these have shorter clearer sections that a sociology type text book would because they are ancious to get on to theuddy parts.

for structure I'd suggest:

history
contagion
myths
types
treatment
situation in the world today

good luck, ignore me if you like

Looks nice.

My suggestion:
GuideML. Use it for headers, lists, numbers, etc. It makes it look prettier and cleaner.

But a big check on the content!

Great contents but poor format. Luckily this is easier to correct than the other way round.

As soon as the entry is put on the right format - like the more logic sequence suggested above and eventually some GuideML polishing, it's probably ready to get into the edited guide.

Good entry. I learned something today.

This is an interesting read. I'd be inclined to reorder the paragraphs as has been suggested, and tidy up the formatting a bit - that would really improve the readability. This has the makings of a great entry with a bit of tidying up. smiley - ok

Great little entry - but it does need some formatting.

Very informative entry. Hate to be "politically correct," but some people who suffer from Hansen's disease prefer to avoid the term "leprosy." See http://www.fortyandeight.org/thestar/faq.htm

Also in that FAQ, they say that the disease described in the bible sounds different from Hansen's disease?

Just to echo everyone else, this is a very good article but does need a couple of superficial changes: switch it to Guide ML (especially that footnote!), and move the last 2 sections to the start.

There are 2 or 3 grammatical bits, like 'No resistance of bacillus MDT is relatively cheap'.

But with these small changes, you should be well on the way to getting this entry into the guide.

Gif's useless trivia: 'Che' Guevara was trained as a leprologist.

Congrats! Your article has been selected to become part of the Edited Guide. It'll go through the usual round of sub-editing, and when it's ready to appear, you'll get an e-mail notification. Good work!
