well, it looks like my article on tea won't be making it into the Guide, and i had such high hopes...anyway, i suppose i couldn't have been beaten by anyone better...

Personally I have rather enjoyed your article!
Though I must disagree on the Earl Grey, Assam is
a better introduction to "real" tea, for our american
cousins!!

I agree that Assam would be a better introduction. Although I love Earl Grey, my ex thought that it tasted of soap.

As an American, let me be the first to interject that we really have no freaking idea about the nuances of tea. Sometimes, speaking for my nation, we feel good about that fact. I love you British folk and evrything, but you guys are hooked. I've seen British men without tea. They go mad. Quite sad.

The reason why Earl Grey can taste like soap is that the milk flattens the delicate taste.
