I was wondering if I could have a hole in my head please? No-one knows why doctors used to cut holes in peoples heads and I want to find out.

The dubious old-time technique of drilling holes in heads to cure everything from gout to demon-posession has been replaced by the modern technique of trepanation, which uses small, precise drilled holes in carefully chosen spots on the skull to relieve intracranial pressure. And people still buy it. Suckers!
