It's nice to see globalisation put in a positive light. Can't really disagree with the idea of shared humanity rather than narrowly defined nationality . Yeah, we're from Manila, Philippines - we have an album coming out called bossamanila after one of the songs. we figured we'll just give it out for free, kind of beating out napster / morpheus / audiogalaxy or whatever.

I think that might be the way bands will be going... getting paid for prformances, not as much for albums. kind of a return of the old ways.

I like the sound of that....I played for a living for the past 5 or 6 years and even cut a CD at one point....didn't make a penny from the CD, but it did lead to a hell of a lot more work and therefore, a lot more money. We aint talking nothing fancy - mostly pubs/clubs (though we were once the support group for a reasonably well known act), but anyway, the point is if you can play live, you make money - even if its nothing fancy.

And if you caint play live - dont play at all

hey guys! ben outta action for a while. As the rat-man pointed out, the site's really helped us get a bunch of gigs! we were playing in this really great jazz club called monk's dream all last month, and they asked us back for all of next month as well! we had to regretfully decline a weekly gig in favour of time to finish our album and learn new covers for the people. we'll still be there 2 nights in the month. thanks for your support, people!
