I'm watching a PBS documentary about the Blair decade and they are talking to his advisors and neighbors.

Hey, tr. You must have something better to do than that.
And I know that "ya'll" in the title is American venacular, but I'd nonetheless like to make it clear that nobody else in Britain sounds like Blair, or indeed waves their hands about like Blair.
I hope everyone heeds this shocking lesson about what can happen if you over-rehearse your sincerity.

I wouldn't have thought about the Blair government and 'I didn't know you cared' in the same breath, Tonsil. Oh, alright, maybe 'Two Jags'!
I didn't know that Robin Bailey had died. I used to like his Uncle Mort. Priceless.

He even looks funny!
It was odd that many of the people in the piece, particularly the one's being interviewed after the fact about what they did before they were elected away, or fired, or indicted... seemed to speak as if Englisch were their second langgage.
I was watching "Shaun of the Dead" the other week and I was very surprised at how mid-atlantic it sounded.
I was also very surprised to see Arthur Dent at one point. The second one.
Which reminds me. I was watching another documentary a week or so ago about a fellow named Benjamin Franklin. Many of the actors were Britisch and one of them was the first Arthur Dent playing a very posh toff. There were other actors in the documentary, including the one playing Franklin himself at one age, who were very familiar to me. One of the actors playing Ben was the fellow with the glasses who played the cabbie husband to Barb.

Prescott is a gem. We'll miss him. He once said (allegedly) of Green Belt conservation zones "The Green Belt is a Labour achievement and we're building on it".
He also punched a protestor a couple of years ago, which is something far more public figures ought to do.
He comes from Hull, which for me vies with Kokomo, Ind. to be the most unnecessary town on earth.
Martin Freeman (aka Dent II) is probably best known over here as Tim in the Office.
Shaun of the Dead is one of my favourite films, particularly late at night after a lot to drink. I'll have to watch it again for mid-atlantic leanings, which I confess I hadn't detected at all.

I thought the "hip-hop" references and the functioning Winchester that killed zombies with obvious blanks...
