Still writing. Had to move from yahoo groups because yahoo doesn't seem to want to keep groups or much of anything else. They had previously closed yahoo photos and made a deal with another photo site.

So, I moved my other (more private) writing to live journal. It seems to be more stable. Not had any problems there in the several years I've journalled there.

Yeah, it does seem that some of the big behemoths of the Internet are starting to shed services. Google is disbanding Google+. I didn't know that Yahoo was dropping services, but it doesn't surprise me.

Microsoft eliminated the instant messenger. Then Hotmail. They now have outlook as a package.

Yahoo eliminated photo albums, then the yahoo instant messenger, also the design your own front page feature. Google had a built in email alert and hangouts. I didn't use hangouts.

I found the Trillian messenger in 2002 or so. It is a small program that interfaces with several others. It does email alerts and Instant messaging, for free. The newer version is even better than the previous.
