A voice came to me in a dream.
All was not, as it did seem.

Every word was clear,
And, calmed my fear.

Upon waking,
My hands were shaking.

For clarity, I then, did ask.
Instead, I was given a task.

Danger will lie ahead.
Listen carefully to what I have said.

Your enemies are snakes.
But, you can't beat them with garden rakes.

Choose carefully, whom you will trust.
Trust them implicitly, you must.

When you find the sun,
The worst, will have been done.

I felt so sad,
As I answered, Yes, Dad.

Last night, when I was sound asleep,
I had a dream--what did it mean?
I wrapped a package, broad and deep,
A gift to send to fair Wiline.

And while I wrapped it, other friends
Were mixing dough, prepared to bake
--As thus each one her help extends--
For fair Wiline a layer cake.

That's nice, I look forward to the continuation.

Wiline is a beautiful young woman who works where I work. She has dark skin, and is tall and willowy. She had wanted to study music in college at Atlantic Union College, but family finances pretty much restricted her to something more affordable and close to home, so she's studying to be a nurse. I'm not sure, but I think her family is Haitian. I wish she could have gone to her first choice of college. Atlantic Union would have given her a lot of personal attention.

I can fully empathize with Wiline's situation.

The poem in post 1 is about a real dream that I had many years ago. The dream was so vivid that it bothered me.

It surprised me to no end that my father said anything other than: Stop being silly, it was only a dream. My father was a very practical man, spiritual, but not the least bit mystical.

What he said was, "At some point you will be faced with a situation that will involve a lot of deceptive or harmful people. You will have to choose carefully who to trust. Then, you must trust them completely and do exactly as they say."

Fortunately, I have managed to find some people that I can trust completely.

Last night, I dreamed that I visited a friend's house in a posh neighborhood. They always had great Christmas parties, but I liked to visit at other times as well.

However, in my dream I noticed for the first time that the mansion they lived in was on wheels, and you had to climb a rickety series of boards to get up to the front door (in order to have a basement, the first floor/front door had to be up a ways.

I bet that seems a lot stranger in parts of the country where mobile homes and elevated houses are not as common as they are here. Houses in Louisiana do not have basements(the water table is too high, or maybe the ground is too low).
