My neice had a baby boy last Friday. I saw him tonight for the first time, he is a truly beautiful baby, and so small.

Welcome to Earth, baby. It's hot in summer and cold in winter and there's this stuff called gravity that stops us all from falling off. There's just one rule as far as I can make out: Godammit, you've got to be kind.

Oh, I just had another thought, his birthday is mighty close to Christmas. (That is, if you celebrate this holiday.)
I have family members who also have birthdays within a week or so of Christmas or right after New Years day. After they got to be about eight or ten, they complained that they felt a little short changed. It seems they felt their birthday got lost in all the hub bub of the other holidays. Our remedy? We started having surprise UN-birthday parties in May or June. Not every year, just every now and then, so the party would really be special.
In a few years, you might want to think about doing one. Just a thought.
