"Even at 2am in the UK it can suddenly start spewing out 'Server too busy' pages."
2am is when all the full backups start, so that could be a cause. There's also a very annoying feature of SSO which could cause this, which also happens at 2am, but that's a very long and complicated explanation which won't fit into this margin.

It's annoying that the servers are screwed up, but as a someone who doesn't pay a license fee I don't really think I have the right to complain.
If anyone wants my opinion, the BBC should let overseas users pay the license fee and then watch BBC TV online. If they want my opinion, that is.

I couldn't get it to load the first time, it was falling apart - but I managed to complete it anyway - the second time, and I've seen it since.

The questionnaire came up for me yesterday and I got all excited, but the darn thing wouldn't load so I gave up. Haven't seen it today though.

really had a bad moment just now the servers did. About 5 mins of constant 'too busy' messages.
As for the questionnaire I've done both the BBC news one and I finally got the H2G2 one at home the other day. Neither presented any problems (technically that is ) and I did the h2g2 one under opera which has had some probs in the past with bbc pages.
