This is a little silly but I think it could be useful to people. I often get poeple asking me how i make mine and I thought if i put it in the Guide then everyone would be able to see how...
Let me know what you think =)

A few points;
You can't use marquees in the edited guide. Sorry.
Ditto for the first person.
What's with the letters at the end(A, B...)?
Nice idea though, and could work very well as an entry.

That is a good point. I'd take out the marquee before it went in. I'll have a look at rewriting it in the third person.
Do you actually think people would be interested?

Yeah, it's an original subject. Just what the guide needs, although it still needs some work. Not the sort of thing I'd be tempted to try myself, but nethertheless interesting and informative.
BTW I forgot to say, you also can't use smileys. Sorry.

It's nothing *I* could do with my hair (seeing that I could give them individual names soon ... ) but...
this is just the right stuff for the Guide
Just a few tips:
Try GuideML on the A)... B)... sections: it's the tag (OL for 'Ordered list'). Use it like this:
......... {this is where the list starts}
......... {your first List Item, automatically numbered as '1'}
StuffOfItem1
......... {end of first item}
.......... {next one}
StufOfItem2
......... {end of second item}
...etc
......... {end of the list}
You might want to enclose your ListItems in Paragraph tags to have them separated by a little more space:
StuffOfAnItem
That's it
Keep the fancy colours & stuff. Or better: make a copy of the entry in the form *you* like it best. The Edited Guide doesn't use colours etc, etc, and it would be the task of the SubEd to take it all out. Once recommended, the SubEd will receive a copy of the entry in its current form (while you retain the original). In order to let both of you have the entry in their preferred form, you should 'clean up' this here version and keep the fancy one until after recommendation.
Just to repeat myself:

Hows this? Did I forget anything? I tried to take all the first person references out as well, although i do overuse the word 'you'!
Thanks for telling me about the I didn't know

There are two I's left here:

"some examples of what i mean..."

My God you must have been reading it closely
?
Thankyou, i've fixed them now... any other suggestions? And what do I do when i've groomed it to an agreeable standard to be Edited?

(ssssshhhhht: actually, I searched for an 'I', followed by a blank )
Unless there are more suggestions - which you might or might not take into consideration since it's *your* entry - it's time to enter 'waiting mode'. 25 entries get picked per week, and there are fare more in PR, hence it's a matter of random how long it will take.
There was word from the Towers on the Scouts' eGroup: any tags within recommended entries are taken out for the Edited copy... they might insert a new graphic if the entry becomes the 'choice of the day'. This doesn't necessarily mean that *you* should take out the pictures because you'll retain your copy. We were asked to tell researchers about this so they won't be disappointed.

Well, the usuall thing to do is to sit up and write another one while this one makes its rounds about the SubEd's and the Towers' desks, but of course, this is the right time to have some

yeh, that's pretty much it. basicly it just goes through the sub-ed system, being edited. when it's finished you get an email, just FYI, and i think after that it goes on the front page...? although i'm not sure how they do that, if it's right away or after a few days. so, to you!

After having dreadlocks for 2 years and then having to cut them of for work I would really like to make some extensions!! The wool is canary wool its easy to pull apart but then I do not know what to do next to make the shape or how to make it strong to so it looks like a dread can you help me I would really appreciate it. I look forward to having news from you even if you cant help take it easy Lornaxx
