I have no idea what you two are talking about, but I think there was an episode of Happy Days where the hero thought it was the exotic stranger who'd saved his life, only it was the faithful, unassuming sidekick all along.
Two episodes. Ah hell, all of them are basically the same.

He adds a kick to your greatness, while standing at your side.
Now, it might seem like the name 'sidekick' came from this, but it's actually derived from Latin - seidkicka, seidkickae, a feminine noun.
In Roman government, a consul's sidekick would warm up the Senate with his antics.
And that is the origin of both sidekicks and American Vice Presidents.
