We headed up to Grants Pass today, and got a few Christmas presents. The main reason we went, though, is that they had a tire sale, and the gas to go up and back was less than the difference between the local tires (of lesser quality) and the tires 2 hours away. While we were up there, PaperKid got presents for Tom and Notepad, and we got some DVDs for the girls (a joint gift for the girls is going to be a 2 screen portable DVD player for the car--should make 6 hour car trips a bit more bearable for the girls, and reduce the amount of whining for those of us in the front seat
Tomorrow will be the last journal snippet of the entry, and I'm going to gather up the bits (and possibly add more) over this next week. I've already asked one of my friends from the chicken forum to look it over to make sure I don't have any factual errors. Once he does, I'll submit it to PR.

Whoever invented portable DVDs should be knighted, makes long journeys with kids so much easier!

DVDs are very portable. It's the gadgets that play them that may weigh a bit much.
