Happy Thanksgiving to all the USian h2g2ers!
Happy 4 weeks before Christmas to everyone else
We had a good Thanksgiving. I made the turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, candied yams, corn, but skipped the green salad since Tom made a shrimp macaroni salad. I'm not very good at sharing my kitchen... I did cheat and buy rolls, and Tom had bought 2 pies a couple weeks ago, so I didn't bother with a pie, since there were only going to be 6 of us.
I actually won at Scrabble! I usually either get stuck with all vowels or no vowels.

got the turkey heart and half the gizzard after I simmered the innards for the stuffing (the liver goes in the stuffing), and the skin and scraps from the big platter when I moved the turkey to a smaller platter for storing in the fridge. The chickens got the turkey neck and the other half of the gizzard, as well as the potato peels and other raw veggie scraps (they'll get the plate scrapings tomorrow)

You were lucky, Amy. Here on the East Coast we had a nasty storm, as I describe in my journal for today. My family had its Thanksgiving dinner on Friday, as Thursday was impossible.
