CD production, when you're using a small digital recorder and a laptop, can be fiddly and time consuming. Especially when someone (correctly) decides that a CD that has already been recorded and several copies burned (and some sold/given away) needs to be redone. But at least the cover and the CD label didn't have to be redone, since the song order stayed the same--Tom just re-recorded the songs. Much of my day on Veterans' Day was spent going through the files from the digital recorder finding the best copies of the new versions of the songs. Said search was not made easier by the fact that the file names were all things like "DR-0010" and such (yes, as I found the songs, I renamed them, adding punctuation to the song titles to differentiate different recordings of the same songs, but I had to *find* them first!) Then Tom had to re-record a couple of the songs *again*. We finally got a CD that we were happy with, so today I burned a dozen on my laptop--I'd already printed and stuck on the labels, and cut and inserted the covers into the cases. Tom's going on a ministry trip tomorrow, and will be back after the weekend.
When he gets back, we're going to take my laptop in to get fixed, finally. I don't know how long that will take, but I'll be able to do NaJoPoMo from my phone, and will probably borrow Tom's laptop to do the chicken entry entries. I don't know if it'll be every even numbered day and only even numbered days, though--we'll have to see. It'd be nice to have a laptop that I dare have on my lap again, though!

Well, the title of the other CD is "Classic Gospel and Hymns" so I'll let you be the judge of rock-star-ness Though a friend once said his singing voice was like a male Janis Joplin (I love seeing people's reactions to hearing him sing for the first time--he's fairly soft spoken, but his singing voice, while I wouldn't call it Joplin-esque, is not what you'd expect) And he did used to do an arrangement of "I'll Fly Away" that started traditionally, and ended as metal
