My usual pattern on school days is to get up at a time that is well after PaperKid's alarm goes off, but early enough that, if she hits snooze too many times or just plain sleeps through it, I can get the girls up in time to get ready for school. Just barely, but barely is good enough Tom takes them to school, since he stopped working the graveyard shift at WalMart a couple months ago, and then I go back to bed for awhile--partly because I'm a night owl and stay up later than I should, and partly because I've caught up with my morning internet stuff, or will be able to between getting up again and having to get ready for w*rk. The going-back-to-bed bit has sort of stopped, since there're actually conversations in my feed now! Enough that I have to go on other MP pages! Before this month, I didn't even have to scroll down. It's a bonus that so many people have journals that make for good reading

Fascinating these little sneak peeks into other people's lives/ minds. I actually like November for all the new stuff that shows up but I did read there's been a few complaints about conversation list being hijacked, pity its taken that way. The more the merrier for me! Have a great day

I love it too, it makes me feel part of a community rather than just dipping in here and there to random conversations.

With regards to hitting the snooze button too many times, it helps to understand the pattern of sleep curves. It's in approximately 90 minute cycles, in which 45 minutes in you are in your deepest, and hardest to wake from, sleep. At the start and finish of the cycle is the shallower, easy to wake from sleep.
These cycles get a bit shorter and less deep closer to morning, but if she's hitting the snooze button for, say, 40 minutes, then either adjust the time she goes to sleep or the time she sets the alarm.
I have an app on my phone that has a feature to tell me what the best waking time is when I go to bed, alternatively it can tell me what the best sleep time is if I have a certain time I must get up. I personalise it a bit because it factors in 15 minutes to fall asleep and I certainly don't take that long. Sometimes the alarm is a bit earlier than I need to be up. But I never hit the snooze button, and I get a bit longer to drink my morning

Most mornings, the girls are up well before I am. They don't start getting ready until after I get up, let the chickens out, and "remind" them, but at least they're out of bed.
Key: Complain about this post
