Me, not Faithsmiley - winkeye

I'm reading several sites regarding septic systems.

And finding it interesting.

Guess stuff like that happens when you know the house you're going to be looking at tomorrow has a well and a septic system. (The house in question is one that we were going to look at last week, and Tom did get to. Unfortunately, we were to view it the day after the car acted up, so he was at the mechanic's and was unable to pick me up in time for the appointment. I made another appointment for tomorrow.)

smiley - yikes..and Oh Dear, Amy...a well established nickname in Oz for Yanks is.......smiley - erm...Septic Tanks....smiley - sorry that I do not know the derivation for this. As I understand, it was along the similar lines as in Britain during the Second World War, when the US troops were considered to be Over There and...I forget how the rest goes. The Aussies just took it further in their, or our, typical larrikin style.... A trait within us that you may well enjoy knowing, as we are quick to take the "Mickey"out of anyone..smiley - goodluck and Best Wishes with your house hunting....

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

Having helped install, and repair, septic systems, I can assure you that my fascination with them waned very quickly. smiley - laugh

Hi Amy,

Good luck with your house hunting.

We had septic tanks both in South Africa and Zimbabwe. One has to be fairly careful though not to use a disinfectant which goes through to them. Otherwise....end of system/tank!!

Do you actually have to *hunt* the houses? Couldn't you bait a very large trap and let the houses blunder into it? smiley - huh

The sequel to "Wicked" is "Son of a Witch." The author of those books has also written "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister." smiley - evilgrin
