I should probably checked to see how much caulk was in the tube before I started peeling away the old mildewed stuff from around the tub, huh? And does it matter that it's indooroutdoor and not specifically for bathrooms?

It should work fine, Amy. Before you put more caulk down, be sure to kill all that mildew by spraying a bleach solution on the area letting it sit for a little while, then rinse and allow to dry. Otherwise, the mildew may continue to grow under the caulk.
I've found that a little bleach in a spray bottle does wonders at killing mildew deader than a smack. I use it all the time to fend it off. It also makes the black gunk disappear completely. I've been experimenting with proportions of bleach to water. It seems that a 10% bleach to 90% water solution is enough to do the job. Use good ventilation, don't breath much, and of course, don't mix this with any other cleaner as you work.
I think you'll be pleased at the results.

So I didn't need to go get any? Oh well... I don't think there was enough in the tube to cover anyway (the tip was cut way too big) Plus I got clear instead of white. The tub's needed caulking for awhile--most of the old stuff came up with no resistance whatsoever. Forgot to pick up a cheap putty knife to scrape off the scraps, but an expired credit card should work just as well. Tom's going to be surprised when he gets home

Yup. I find a wet sponge works quite well. However, (WARNING) the clear stuff dries a little yellowish, and it will pick up dirt as it sits on the white part of your tub or tub enclosure. My hubby was quite industrious and put down a whole bunch of clear caulk to seal the tub, and three weeks later we had to scrape it off because it turned yellow. We used white caulk instead, which looks great and much cleaner.

*makes note of where to take tac if he ever gets to visit*
All done. Now it's just got to sit--should be cured by the time Tom gets home.

The average Home Depot is so big, we could have the meet-up *in* it.

I have one by my appartment...I walk around inside for quite a while thinking of all the things I would like to do...then don't because It's an appartment and not my own place

I've never bothered to get any garden or porch furniture. To begin with, I have no garden anyway, just a lawn. I do have a porch, but it's not really big enough for more than one chair, if that many. And if I sat on the porch, what kind of a view would I have anyway?
All but one of the places on the facing street are gone, so all I can see is empty lots and the highway.

hmmm well if you got a wild hair you could turn your lawn into a garden...and using pretty fencing or whatnot you could make it so you wouldn't see the empty lots or highway...lots of work though
