*rolls eyes*
I knew I've been busy, but I looked at the calendar at home this weekend (and this is the first chance I've had to whine about it, because this has been another busy weekend) Let me back up a few weeks... (But then, how exactly will you stop me? By the time you see this, I'll already have written it)
A few weeks ago, I thought I'd found the perfect way to make up for the fact that I've been unable to fall asleep before 11, have to get up shortly after 6, and have to get up at least once during the night, sometimes twice. I'm generally wiped out by Poets, so for 2 weeks I ended up laying down on the couch when I got home from w*rk, getting up when Tom told me dinner was ready, eating, then going to bed for the rest of the night. That actually managed to recharge me for the next week (the beginning of it, anyway)
But...
Week before last, I had to put off going to the laundromat until Poets (normally I do laundry on Thing) because we were invited to someone's house on Thing. So no 'nap'. That Doobry I couldn't sleep in, because that was the weekend Tom's sister took me shopping, and then I went to another lady's baby shower. Dontbries don't work for sleeping in because of church, and we were out and about that afternoon, so no nap. Besides, I've taken to trying to avoid naps when I have to get up for w*rk the next day, as I guess I think I might be able to get to sleep easier if I don't... I was bone-tired all the next week, starting from Sodit, and we've been busy at w*rk...
This past week, the laundromat was closed on Thing, so laundry had to be done on Poets again. Got to sleep in to 10, but I really wanted to sleep longer. However, this was the weekend of the Mother-Daughter Tea at church, which I was already signed up for, and I'd invited Tom's sister, our niece, and Tom's mom came down from Redding as well, so... I had a good time, but in the long run, sleep would likely have been better for me. Those that have heard me mention Tom's mom before know that we don't necessarily get along so wonderfully at times. It can be difficult when the older of a pair is convinced that smaller numbers on the birth certificate makes you automatically right... *ahem* Anyway. Dontbry, Mother's Day here in the US, was rather busy as well. Tom had some church-realted stuff to do, his mom wanted to spend a bit more time with her daughter and then join Tom in his thing, and we were having an unspecified number of people over for dinner. (Turned out, counting us, to be a dozen Which is exactly how many seats we can squeeze into the dining room, with me sitting on a step stool) So I got to spot clean and make soup and garlic bread for an unknown number *thud* Went well, and luckily they were running late too.
Now for future dates...
This weekend, we're going up to Crescent City to see Tom's parents, Daddy Bob, and likely Toby as well. So there's a busy weekend.
Weekend of the 24th (Memeorial day weekend)--the 24th is Praise in the Mountains, which we've been to twice, and I really enjoy, but this year probably won't get to go to, as Tom works on Doobries now. So unless I find someone to go with... But maybe I should just sleep all day anyway. The Dontbry is Church in the Park, but luckily it's just around 2 corners from our place, so I won't have to get up early enough to help set up
The next weekend, we've nothing but maybe a dinner on the 31st, I think at someone else's house.
June 7th, we've a wedding to go to I've got to remind J or L that I need that photo if I'm going to give J and H a portrait for a wedding present...
The rest of June looks clear so far...

Which poets wipe you out, Amy?
Is it Milton, with his page-long sentences?
Poe with his melancholy images?
Or is it the more contemporary ones like
Wallace Stevens, that really take a lot of
work to decipher?
Have you tried switching to prose?

You know full well I mean Fri
Oddly enough though, what you said is actually a little apropo--I've never been a poetry fan...
Methinks, after dinner, I'm gonna go straight to bed. I'm only on here so I don't fall asleep before dinner, because I don't think I'd get up until tomorrow, and i do need to eat, if only for PaperBaby's sake.

Irony squats, hoof in mouth, behind every bush.
I like poets, but I still insist on calling the fifth day of
the week Friday.
Amy is just the reverse.
Go figure.

And of course there's the obvious way that we're opposites, Paul
Slept for about 11 hours (minus bathroom trips...) and I feel *much* better! I had't felt rested when the alarm went off for what feels like ages...

The obvious ways Amy and Paul are different?
Well, number one, I don't imagine Paul is pregnant.
At least not with a *Paper*Baby!

Yes, the obvious way does have a lot to do with the fact that Paul can never get pregnant
That, and since I seem to remember him saying that he was 5 in '53 means that he's the same age Mom would be... And the same age Dad would be too, for that matter...
