My camera came today
For those that are interested, I'll list the specs.(Before you start snickering, keep in mind that I got the camera, battery, serial cable, and software for $7) It's a Polaroid Fun 320 (tried looking up the regular price, but it's no longer manufactured) and has these specifications:
Resolution: 320 x 240 pixels
Number of Pictures: 18 (minimum)
Internal Memory: 500K
Removable Memory: none
Focus Range: 3 ft. (1 m) to infinity
Batteries: One 9-volt
And these features:
Automatic focus
Self-timer
Tripod mount
Power indicator light
Compatible with any TWAIN-compliant image editing program
Automatically powers-off to save the battery
No flash, alas, and the lighting in here isn't so great, or I'd have a couple of photos online already. They were just too dark to see anything, though, so they got deleted. So unless we get more lamps, likely all the photos will be outdoors.
But you won't hear me whining about it not getting here anymore!
Woohoo!

Warning.
Digital photography is addictive. (no film costs so you bang away and dump lots of junk)
Photographing first baby is quadruply addictive and NONE are dumped.
(yes I know that you only see the top three inches of his head but just looook at the beauuuuuuutiful hair curl.... )
Paperbaby is due this summer so there should be enough light for outside shots aplenty. They may only be a quality for a webpage rather than a 10x8 for the mantelpiece in grannie's front room but hey - you can put dozens in each email or round robin by post.
If you can get them onto your computer OK then Irfanview is a free download and does the basics on size, cropping redeye reduction etc.
Enjoy.
Woohoo!

ooooh you lucky thing
Believe me if you can get your hands on a flash do it, my camera's an ancient brick and I've yet to find the flash for it...if you can get one now, get one And as for dads digital camera...it's pretty much a brick with a floppy disk bit
*goes off lurking again8

I tried to take a picture of the belly before I posted, but the only mirror positioned right is on my dresser, and the bedroom was too dark. If we have time tonight, before Tom goes to church, I'll have him take at least one picture in the back yard. Though the blouse I'm wearing today hides the belly fairly well... Of course, I can tighten it up for the photos
And tom--why do you think I wanted the digital camera anyway, if not to inundate my online friends with baby pictures?
Woohoo!

Yay, good, lovly, yay,
Good news, and now let the party begin, or at least the photo galery.
I got a Ditital camara a few weeks ago, Nikon 700 somthing, with 4MPix and a flash, and CF cards, I got it because of the CF cards. my palm takes CF cards, so I got a 256MB CF card too, and now I can go out and take literaly 100,000 of pics, before the card gets full.
I snaped my first buterfly, a Green Vained white last week. I'm very pleased wih the quality and the motion capture.
I wish I could send it you, so you could take lasting pictures of paperbaby .

That's very sweet of you, Doc
Though with how Tom was asking about the camera, we might end up upgrading when possible Though of course, we've more important expenses. We've got a nice regular camera, but I've no idea where in the house it is... Likely find it when we shuffle everything out of what will be the baby's room...

Well, I did get an Anne Geddes calndar for Christmas, and it seems to be about half babies and half pregnant women...
But since I've had a few on here that are very keen on my progress, I thought I'd take piccies to show how much I'm showing.
And I just realized--we have a really bright work light I can set up if I need to take pictures indoors at night, so there could well be photos of the progress of the nursery if I get bored
Woohoo!

Where there's a will, there's a way.
Light is always a good thing, except when
it's bright sunlight turning my black umbrella
almost white.

Ah, but Paul saw a chance to say something funny and twist the topic around a bit and he took it!
