Hi Amy, Just dropped in to say hello seeing as how I haven't spoken to you for a while...well not at all actually, I've only ever written(Hah!). Anyhow, what's with all this depression bit? C,mon gell, snap out of it, if you haven't already. Life is good even when it's not. Er, no that's not right.
What I mean is, ask yourself what about your life makes you happy?
What are you grateful for?
What are you proud of?
What are you enjoying in your life right now?
Who loves you as much as you love them?
When you answer those questions honestly you'll feel a lot better I'm sure.... and then, if you wish, you can ask the same questions to all those people who depressed you in the first place to make them feel better too.

I like your self-correction, Radox I reserve the word 'spoken' for phone conversations (or even face-to-face, but that hasn't happened with h2g2ers--except for my husband, naturally)
I *am* feeling much better, thanks

Well, that's all right then. (I would add a smiley here but I haven't worked out how yet. I know, I know, there's a page that tells everyone, I found it once, I just didn't print it out so I could refer back to it).

If you hover your pointer over a smiley, you'll see its name... just put the name between these things <> and voila! Just make sure there's no spaces...

Ta muchly for that Amy, I just went back through the thread a couple of pages and I see what how it works now, and with that I shall log off and go to bed as I have to be up for the "w" thing in, er, six hours actually. Nighty night.

I discovered that saving - or screen shot-ing, or what have you - the smiley pages as a file on yoru desktop works well.
'Course, I don't have mine out on the desktop anymore, and I lost my printout.... I should tape it up somewhere. I think people are clued in to my six or seven most frequently used smileys.

My memories are kinetic, so it's worked with the smileys I use often....
Heya, I made a bit of an adjustment to the Inspiration Spa. Unfortunately, I don't think you can quite get to it from the Musehome yet, but it's worth dropping by. (You can get to it from my page, down there at the way bottom, where it lists my contributions to the Guide.)
I need to get the programming bug again....

Hi Amy...I spend all day listening to other peoples problems ..it's my job,,ask Clive the thingite warlord...then i also get my friends bringing their problems cos it's my job...do you see a pattern emerging here?
The thing is if you weren't a nice person no one would bring their problems to you cos you wouldn't be sympathetic...so you either become a nasty person or just accept that some of us are doomed to be the bearer of other people's baggage.
it's problems that make life interesting..we can think thank God thats not me going through that and we learn by our mistakes. it's what we go through in life that makes us who we are. (in my case completely raving bonkers!)
You are a nice person Amy, don't change.Jusy try and learn to distance yourself from other people's problems..it can be done..i have to do it or I'd get depressed! for a special person

Of course, we can always avoid smileys altogether and express ourselves using *words*. It's crazy but it just might work.

*retyping because the phone interrupted and made her late leaving, and she closed the window before she posted...*
Thanks Tabitca I don't know why I didn't see your post, but there were quite a few I missed yesterday... But you're right...

just another voice to let you know you're not alone, there have been days when i have had exactly that same thought, amy
but aside from h2g2 i've had the same experiences in rl for years, it's actually given me a mind to study psychology and make a living from it. now if i weren't such a procrastinator i might have actually done that at some point....
