Rat, who can't remember his way round this bloody thing.

I saw a film about 4 years ago...I cant remember the name. It starred Clint Eastwood as a film director going off to make a film and hunt elephants, but thats by the by. There's just this one scene that sticks with me, and sadly, I'll have to paraphrase.

It was along these lines. They're all sat around a table in a resteraunt and one of the women says something offensive (reacist if I recall) and he says to her "I was sat in a resteraunt like this, sat next to a beautiful girl - she was a lot like you - the most god-damn beautiful girl in the world and she made a remark - a little like you did - and I told her that you can sit next to the most god damn beautiful girl in the world and also be sat next to the most god-damn ugly bitch in the world at the same time". That was a paraphrase and a poor one at that...I wish I could remember the name of the film...

Later in the same scence, the owner of the resteraunt hits one of the waiters and thinks its okay because he's african...clint steps in and gets beaten up. "Sometimes you have to fight, not because you think you can win, but because its the right thing to do"

That last paragraph was irrelivant, its the one before I'm writing about....

You'd be amazed how true it is...I've seen two photographs over the last couple of days that I've never seen before, one of them, well, did you ever look at a photo and wonder which one of them is you? It's an odd feeling, it really is....and the other, you'd be amazed how people look nothing like how they should...some people deserve to be as beautiful on the outside as they are on the in...and some people deserve to be ugly in just the same way.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a button that we could press that made peoples outsides look like the inside?

Evangeline

Was the movie White Hunter Black Heart?

I've been mistaken for someone else in person a few times. A very specific someone else, not a vague "Have we met?". After about the third time, I went looking for that other person.

A few months ago someone showed me a picture of his ex. She was very pretty, and I said as much. His reply was "Drop dead gorgeous wouldn't make up for *that* personality."

*shudders to think about everyone's outsides looking like their insides*

Being cynical, I tend to (sub conciously) assume someone who is very physically appealing isn't very nice. It's the "too good to be true" sort of thing. I'm always pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. smiley - biggrin

I guess that spells doom for Martha Stewart, then.

I think Julie Andrews is as beautiful inside as she is out (though I'll never know for sure, as I've never met her).
